Once used to house cattle, this eighteenth-century stone barn needed a lot of care and attention to become a luxury holiday cottage.
The first task was to lower the floor level to overcome low ceiling heights. The footings were then filled with concrete to form a solid foundation.
An internal softwood structure was created to avoid excessive pressure on the existing stone walls.
An open plan design and gallery staircase created a modern feel while reclaimed oak beams added character to the property.
